Songs for Anna

Songs for Anna is named after one of our students Anna Guest, now in her fifth year with us, who two days before Christmas 2014 was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Songs For Anna is a project run by NiStars to help Anna, her friends, and family, concentrate on the positives in life, instead of focusing on her illness.

As well as holding various events in Songs For Anna’s name, we’ve also released an album of original tracks, featuring Anna and the performers from NiStars. All tracks were written by Belfast based Singer/Songwriter Paddy mcBride, with arrangement and production from Cormac O’Kane of Redox Recording Studios, Belfast. The album is available to buy here: Songs for Anna on iTunes.

Also performing on the album is Frostbit Boy Ruairi McSorley, with his debut single ‘the Girl For Me.’

All proceeds go to Brainwaves NI,  Anna’s chosen charity, which helps brain tumour sufferers, and their families in variety of ways, as well as helping to fund brain research.

The artwork was designed by fellow NiStars pupil Rachel McCourt, with artwork put together by Rachel’s mother Gillian.
